The Health and Wellness component raises the awareness level of the importance of proper health and positive health practice in youth. This component is anticipated to branch out to families and the general community, as engaged youth begin to spread their knowledge to the immediate public. The AIM for Youth Health and Wellness component is an action-based approach that delivers activities that focus on: Nutrition Fitness Health Awareness (to include youth obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.) Cultural Awareness Substance Abuse Prevention Stress/Energy Management Community Building Through a four-step process that includes needs assessment, supporting workshops/curriculum development, challenge courses/exercise programs, and on-going support, youth are provided a comprehensive Health and Wellness program that positively impacts student health and character development.
